Data Insights Initiative (IDEAS), in association with The Global Library, is organising a two-day online workshop titled “Turning Public Data into Insights: How to Find, Interpret, and Visualise Information.” The workshop will be conducted by Mr. Sai Krishna, Senior Associate – Data Research and Analysis at Dataful.

This workshop aims to build foundational data literacy among participants. Conducted through two 90-minute sessions, it combines conceptual grounding in public data ecosystems with practical, hands-on training. The first session (6th January 2026) will introduce key types and sources of public data, stages of data work, and the importance of context, metadata, and critical interpretation. The second session (7th January 2026) will focus on guided exercises using Microsoft Excel, including basic analytical functions, pivot tables, and visualisation tools such as Flourish, along with demonstrations of AI-driven tools like Tagore AI and GoPie.
