The Global Library has acquired a license for iThenticate, a leading text similarity checking software. This tool is trusted by the world’s leading publishers and funding agencies for checking content originality. We encourage you to use it effectively to uphold the integrity and quality of your scholarly work.

Although iThenticate’s developers often refer to it as a ‘plagiarism detection tool,’ we do not categorize it as such, as it does not directly detect plagiarism. Instead, it is designed to identify textual similarities in full-length academic articles prior to journal submission.

Furthermore, as AI rapidly transforms the scholarly communication landscape, many publishers and funding agencies are updating their submission policies to either limit the use of AI or require explicit disclosure of AI involvement in academic writing. iThenticate can help authors understand how their submissions align with these evolving AI-related expectations and policies.

To create an iThenticate account, please write to turnitin@jgu.edu.in. The Global Library team will assisit you. Please forward this note to the scholars you guide.

Note:

  1. This service is available exclusively for faculty and research scholars, and is intended for checking journal articles and project proposals.
  2. This tool should not be used to check text similarities in students’ assignments or exam papers.
  3. Our license allows us to check up to 5,000 documents, so it is important to use the tool judiciously. Please do not check for similarities after writing each paragraph. Instead, use iThenticate only after completing the full draft of your paper or proposal.
  4. Please check only papers, reports, or proposals that carry JGU affiliation.

Thanks.
