We are excited to invite you to the Online Workshop on “Prism AI: Transforming Legal Research Beyond Search”. Access to legal information in India has expanded significantly through open digital platforms, yet a substantial gap persists between retrieving legal documents and meaningfully interpreting, contextualizing, and applying them in professional and academic practice. This workshop examines how Prism AI, a suite of eight domain-specific AI tools developed by Indian Kanoon, a freely accessible legal database and search engine, addresses this gap by moving legal technology beyond search and retrieval toward contextual intelligence and assisted reasoning. The session is structured around themes of development philosophy, the technical architecture underpinning Prism and a live demonstration of each tool in the Prism suite. These tools span legal research with verified citations, document-level querying, AI-assisted drafting with Indian legal templates, counter-argument generation, case outcome prediction, moot court simulation, examination preparation and a newly introduced Indian Kanoon search feature – Prism overview. This workshop aims to help participants develop both practical proficiency with Prism’s tools and a critical understanding of the design trade-offs involved in building responsible, context-aware AI systems for legal practice. Details of the Workshop are provided below.
