We are pleased to feature the JATI Distribution Dashboard — a powerful, interactive platform developed by Bishmay Barik that explores the distribution of different jatis across Indian states using data from the Consumer Pyramids Household Survey (CPHS), covering the period from January 2014 to November 2024.

This dashboard uses a highly optimized Parquet dataset and DuckDB for lightning-fast queries, enabling users to:

  • Select a specific state and month or view the full panel of unique households
  • Analyze caste and jati classifications based on the head of the household
  • Filter the data using dropdowns in the sidebar for focused insights

Whether you’re a researcher or curious reader, this dashboard provides an accessible way to understand caste composition trends across time and geography.
